Resembling Heartbeats
Elin Conradsson & Linea Hörnqvist Liukku
18 September – 11 October 2025
In Resembling Heartbeats, Elin Conradsson and Linea Hörnqvist Liukku bring their practices as painters and gardeners into dialogue. Working both in the garden and in a shared studio, they approach painting as a site of encounter and a practice of relation: attentive to cycles of growth and decay and responsive to pictorial processes.
Exploring the interplay of observation and collaboration, their work evokes notions of quidditas, attending to textures, gestures, and rhythms that link human and nonhuman lives. Resemblance emerges through echoing patterns across bodies and plants. I am reminded of Perejaume, who treats landscape as a medium for attentive engagement, where careful looking and reflection uncover out of sight relations (Paisatge i atenció, 1993). The gardens and studio also become spaces of care, where tending, sharing, and collaboration are inseparable from each other (Federici, 2004). For Cornardsson and Liukku, painting, like gardening, is a labor of attentive relations.
Galleri Resistance is hosted at Kinesiska Muren’s basement (Skeppsbron 4). https://fb.me/e/5dRFTGCyS
