Hanna Tordai + Joel Danielsson & Louise Öhman
Hourglass
27th March - 18th April 2025

Time is intangible and omnipresent: it expresses itself through timetables, schedules, temporal imperatives, modes of sequencing, and processes that create “orders of time,” to appropriate François Hartog’s phrase.
In Hourglass, we meet time in complex synthesis and in events that expand across different periods and places, as well as a regulatory mechanism that is internalized in us.

Hanna Tordai (b. 1999) @hannatordai

Hanna Tordai is a painter, currently in her fifth and last year at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. Working as a painter, her works explore the fading and resurfacing of memories, language and the concept of home. The paintings strive to create a pictorial space for unreachable information, using repetition to find a sense of calm in the unknown.

Joel Danielsson (b.1988) & Louise Öhman (b. 1989) danielssonohman.cargo.site

Joel Danielsson & Louise Öhman’s visual practice oscillates between mnemonic recollection and a speculative perspective, spanning across vast time periods and dimensions. They reshape historical events through a special interest in the structure of the image, through its haunting qualities and the transforming, animating or petrifying movements it may perform.
Their work materializes as multi-layered speculative fiction layering past, present and future in conjunctions of video, sound, text, photography and installation.
